As part of our initiative to support entrepreneurs, startups and business owners – we actively put on and seek out the best local events for entrepreneurs.

“You don’t know what you don’t know until you know it”

Events serve to educate and support entrepreneurs through their startup Journey.  Any experienced entrepreneur knows that it can often be a long and lonely road to success, this coupled with the need to perform roles outside of your area of expertise can lead to an overall daunting and difficult experience.

Coming along to events ensures that you are up to date with current trends across various industries, meeting people in similar circumstances and also taking advantage of opportunities that can go a long way to helping your business.

Join us at our next event and find out what it is all about.  Very rarely is it a waste of time, so if you haven’t already RSVP to the next one!

Hope to see you there!

Join us for a fireside chat with Steen Andersson – Head of Product Management at Atlassian! This will be the final speaker event of 2018 for Fishburners, and the first in our brand new event space.

Where: Level 2, Fishburners Event Space

When: Networking from 6pm, event begins at 6:30pm

What: Fireside chat + some drinks & snacks

About the Speaker

Steen’s career as a “product-centric” founder made him a great choice to join Product Management leadership at Atlassian. In this fireside, we’ll dig into how his team at Atlassian are recruiting and skilling Product Managers. Is it better to hire or grow Product Managers? And what are the essential disciplines that makes a winning PM?

Steen was Google Drive’s Group Product Manager, VP Product at Nitro after they acquired his startup Sensedoc. Before that he was co-founder of 5th Finder which actually got acquired twice by both Microsoft and Merkle. Steen is passionate about leading teams to bring new products to new markets and we are lucky to have him back in Sydney after 10 years in the SF Bay area. Steen has a bunch of esoteric hobbies such as collecting vintage computers, building furniture, programing C64 assembly and trying to  embarrass his kids in Fortnight.

About the Moderator

David will be interviewing Steen and is also a product-obsessed founder whose last company, ThreatMetrix, exited in March for over $1B. His previous company exited to Surfcontrol (now Websense) and his current company is Pointzi. Pointzi delivers a codeless SaaS Onboarding solution for Mobile and Web applications – the awesome and somewhat attractive Pointzi team can be found on level 2 near Hey You. David is also a Founding Mentor at Startmate.
