As part of our initiative to support entrepreneurs, startups and business owners – we actively put on and seek out the best local events for entrepreneurs.

“You don't know what you don't know until you know it”

Events serve to educate and support entrepreneurs through their startup Journey.  Any experienced entrepreneur knows that it can often be a long and lonely road to success, this coupled with the need to perform roles outside of your area of expertise can lead to an overall daunting and difficult experience.

Coming along to events ensures that you are up to date with current trends across various industries, meeting people in similar circumstances and also taking advantage of opportunities that can go a long way to helping your business.

Join us at our next event and find out what it is all about.  Very rarely is it a waste of time, so if you haven't already RSVP to the next one!

Hope to see you there!

All startups want to raise capital, but it’s a long road from establishing a business to securing your first round of investment. Join us on March 27th (6pm – 8pm) as we discuss what startup investors look for and the legal steps required for raising capital.

We will cover:

  • Knowing what to address prior to approaching investors
  • Knowing which legal documents are essential for raising capital
  • Being prepared for an investor’s due diligence process
  • What major Australian VC firms look for when considering investment
  • How to avoid the common mistakes a founder makes when trying to raise money
  • What matters the most to investors when considering your startup for investment

Joining us will be Jill McKnight from LegalVision and Garry Visontay from Right Click Capital.

Jill McKnight is considered to be one of Australia’s pre-eminent capital raising lawyers. A Practice Leader at LegalVision, Jill has over 15 years’ experience practising as a lawyer at top commercial firms in Europe, Asia and Australia. She is qualified in England and Wales, as well as Australia. Jill was recently involved in the redraft of the AVCAL Open Source Seed Financing Documents, and specialises in startups, including convertible loans, revenue loans, shareholders agreements, issuing equity and employee share option plans.
